The first nine chapters are each the history of a particular lodge. This is followed by a biographical sketch of John Barney, and a chapter on "Re-organization". Then follows 12 chapters on the administrations of successive leaders, a long chapter on "Royal Arch Masonry"; then "Templar Masonry" and five more chapters on administrations.
