This is the original <a href="http://www.usda.gov" Title="U.S. Department of Agriculture">U.S. Department of Agriculture</a> analysis of <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudzu" Title="Kudzu"> Kudzu <em>(pueraria thundergina)</em></a>, a Japanese vining invasive plant species, also known as Japanese or Chinese Arrowroot. At the time of publication (1920), very little was known about Kudzu, other than that it was from Japan and mostly cultivated there as pasturage. It would not be discovered for several decades that introducing and planting Kudzu in the American South would have tremendous consequences for the entire region. The publication covers what was known at the time of the plant, including basic information, a brief history, recommendations for uses as well as potential insights regarding its safekeeping.
