Shadow over Flodden

When Sarah Graham returns to Larraig from the Court of King James IV of Scotland, she finds that her father Sir Thomas has ridden out to join the King at Flodden. He is brought home by Robin Drummond, younger son of their nearest neighbour, and a marriage is arranged between Sarah and Drummond. But while at Court, Sarah had fallen in love with the handsome, courageous Lord Douglas. When King James IV is killed Sarah is recalled to Court as assistant nursemaid to the new baby King. There she sees Douglas again, but she discovers the Queen Regent is her rival for his love. Preoccupied with her emotional life, she neglects her duties and is accused by Drummond of disgracing his name. Only then does she realize where her heart lies...
