Draft Lakeview resource management plan and environmental impact statement

The Draft Lakeview Resource Management Plan (RMP)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has identified five alternatives for managing 3.2 million acres of public land in southeastern Oregon. Information provided by BLM personnel, other agencies and organizations, and the public have helped to develop the five alternatives...Major RMP issues include designation and management of special management areas, management of riparian and wetland areas, management of upland habitats, management of recreation in the resource area, and support for local Tribes and communities...analyzes management of four existing areas of critical environmental concern (ACEC's), as well as designation and management of 12 additional proposed ACEC's. Also addressed is the suitability of wild, scenic, and recreational designations on three stream segments totaling 29 miles determined to be eligible for such designations under the 'Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.'
