Breaking Waves

This book contains the proceedings of the IUTAM Symposium on Breaking Waves,held at the University of New South Wales in July 1991. The Symposium brought together theoretical and observational expertise, and the proceedings provide a current and comprehensive account of the present knowledge of wave breaking, including state-of-the-art reviews and exciting new results. The articles cover water wave breaking of all scales from capillary to ocean swell and include fundamental theoretical studies, wave breaking models, field and laboratory observations, shoaling waves and engineering applications.
