"Profusely illustrated monograph on Morales may reaffirm the idea that he was more a draftsman than a painter or sculptor, although he realized many works in both techniques. Two themes dominate Morales' work: the female nude and the relationship between model and artist. His studied eroticism is aseptic, however, and comes across more as an artificial formalism, leaving doubts about which idea was more important for Morales.
