Farming, fertilizers and the nitrate problem

The ten chapters of this book deal with the perception of the problem, use of N in crop production, details of the biology, chemistry and physics, the use of computer models to stimulate movement of nitrate in a soil-crop system, sources of nitrate at large within the UK, divided into arable farming, grassland and organic farming, complications f.i. geological nitrate, N in rain water and sewage, and ways in which farmers, consumers and bureaucrats can address the problem
