GONE TO GROUND Arizona trucker Dugan Granger found Abby James bruised, broke and stranded in her dead car beside the highway. She wouldn't say what or whom she was running from, but it wasn't in him to leave her to face her terror alone. The desert had taught Dugan to accept violence as part of nature's plan--after civilization had taught him to hate the waste of human cruelty.
