Turbulent Shear Flows 6

This is a selection of the best papers presented at the Sixth International Symposium on Turbulent Shear Flows held in Toulouse. All contributions have been rewritten and carefully edited for this publication. They give an overview of current research in the five areas: fundamentals and closures, scalar transport and geophysical flows, aerodynamical flows, complex flows and numerical simulations. Each section begins with an introductory article by an expert in the field that provides an outline of the papers to follow and sets them against the background of other research in the area. The book covers theoretical developments, experiments and applications in the engineering sciences, and addresses researchers, graduate students and engineers.
