the long version

After Thomas and Susan load everything they think they will need into a small station wagon, that was carefully picked out and named 'Howard,' they leave Phoenix, Arizona and head out for their first stop -Tucson, Arizona where they meet just about every catastrophe one could imagine. As we travel with Thomas, Susan and Howard through forty-three states, in two years, we are always wondering what they will be doing next as there is never an idle moment. 'Through The Eves' is written in an unusual unique way. DuGan purposely leaves out various words (one being 'my') and ingeniously substitutes them in turn creating ordinary sentences in an unlike form. In doing so DuGan deprives the reader of ownership and possessions; therefore giving the reader clearer direction of seeing things. Through The Eyes is written day to day, present tense, with summaries written in the past tense, so as when reading 'Through the Eyes' it will be just as if the reader were actually there. Living, breathing along with Susan, Howard and Thomas.
