When, one spring day in 1985, Anton Casey Jarvis marches into the Soviet embassy in Washington offering his services as an informer, little do the KGB suspect that this is their first encounter with the most valuable asset they ever had. Yuri Volkov, the high ranking KGB officer appointed as Jarvis's controller, comes to despise the weak and feckless American prepared to send men to their deaths for financial gain.
