The earth has three colors
Sobre o livro
The first full-length publication to provide a comprehensive overview of Moroccan ceramics, The Earth Has Three Colors, traces its history from the rural domestic pottery of the indigenous peoples that inhabited the Rif Mountains through to the contemporary art of Marrakech. David Packer, an internationally regarded ceramist, brings the relatively unknown and unexplored world of Moroccan ceramics to life in his first book and reveals the thriving tradition that is re-invigorating Moroccan history. Packer's unique, original and groundbreaking contribution to the scholarship of Moroccan ceramics is unparalleled. This is the first in-depth nonacademic survey devoted to the subject written for an English-speaking audience from the perspective of an artist and is one of less than a dozen written in any language. Packer's interest in Moroccan ceramics and the desire to write a book began in Fez in 2011, when he was a Fulbright scholar. Since then, over the course of three subsequent trips, he has visited all the important sites of ceramic production, some in large cities and some off the beaten track.
