Letters, diary entries, poems, monologues and diaglogues created to illustrate the stories of people whose lives were touched by Ellis Island, once the United States' largest immigration station. Fictional stories, free-verse, and dialogue accompany real-life photographs of immigrants who arrived at Ellis Island, as well as inspectors, doctors, nurses, cooks, social workers, and others who lived and worked there.
