Later a revised version was made and this revision was once attributed to Einhard but is now attributed to no one with any certainty. (Cf. McKitterick, Rosamund. This work includes, for the years 741-801, the text of the Annales regni Francorum and the revised version (Annales qui dicuntur Einhardi); and, for the years 801-829, the Annales regni Francorum.
