The Back to Basics series was aimed at students at every level of experience. We tried to be thorough, systematic, exhaustive, scientifically correct -- and even interesting. For the most part, we think we succeeded, and that is why we have gathered the series (with some supplementary articles of similar format to fill out the occasional blanks) into a book.
