In 1997, the Food and Nutrition Service commissioned a study of state-level efforts to provide food stamp recipients and eligibles with nutrition education. The purpose of the study was to provide FNS with descriptive information about how food stamp nutrition education has been implemented in states utilizing the optional nutrition education provisions of the Food Stamp Program.
