Three boys-three different boarding schools. How I survived (and thrived), in the midst of cops, drugs, and violence, in my own family. Death threats, destruction, lying, stealing, and jail. It was a daily battle keeping all of us safe, and the house from going up in smoke from the "play" fires the boys were lighting in the yard. Other families were planning for their children to go to college, we were just trying to keep ours out of jail, and get them through high school. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on attorney's fees, residential school, private escort transport services, airfare, travel, educational consultants, and private boarding schools. Finally, in desperation, I reached out for God's help-and got it. Then everything began to change, including me.
