When he is seen trying to rescue a young girl being held prisoner in Mexico, he incurs the anger of her captors. With both the good and the bad on his back, Buck escapes to solitude. When the captain of rangers obtains a pardon for him, he makes Buck take an oath to fight on the side of the law from that point forward.
