Minderheiten und Migration

The contributions collected in this conference volume deal with minorities in the ancient world, and investigate issues of migration and integration in their political, legal, religious, and cultural aspects. Analysis is based on literary, archaeological, and documentary source materials. The scope includes classical Athens in the 5th century BC, Hellenistic Egypt, the history of a traveler to the city of Kandahar (in present-day Afghanistan) at the turn of the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD, the Roman Empire, and late antiquity.
