Soulfires

Deepening our understanding of the young Black male experience, artists, poets, novelists, rappers, filmmakers, journalists, and romantics from socially and economically diverse backgrounds speak out in voices that both harmonize with and argue against each other. Gathered here to address the major themes of love and violence are works of fiction, as well as biography, poetry, letters, essays, eulogies, drama, love songs, and improvisational transcripts that give vivid voice to young Black men in the debate over African-American identity, history, and destiny.
