This book presents a comprehensive treatment of laminar viscous flow. It thus limits itself to the study flows at small or moderate Reynolds numbers, where the laminar flow is stable, but it also provides a basis for studies of all subsequent extensions, including stability and turbulence. Covering not only the classical topics (the Navier-Stokes equation, exact solutions, and the like), but also topics of great practical importance (lubrication, non-Newtonian properties, heat and mass transfer, and so forth) often left out of standard texts on fluid dynamics, the book will be of use to a broad range of engineers, physicists, and others interested in the flow of viscous fluids.
