Historical analysis and philatelic plating of the postage stamp issued in Puerto Rico in 1893 to commemorate the 400 years of the discovery of that Island by Christopher Columbus in 1493. This philatelic study also covers the aspects of the postal usage of this commemorative stamp ―the first authorized by the Spanish authorities―, and well as a description of the philatelic counterfeits. The author of this book is a very well known Puerto Rican philatelist, who is also a prominent archaeologist and respected historian.
