Battles at Thrush Green

Thrush Green's rectory, bleak enough at the best of times, seemed more cheerless than ever as the storm winds blew around it, but it's not just the weather disturbing the peace of Thrush Green. Feelings are running high about the rector's new plans for the neglected churchyard, which don't meet with universal approval; there is a clash of personalities at the local school; and someone has returned after an absence of fifty years. The normal tranquillity of the village is unexpectedly shattered.
