the long version
Cole Waldron had an uneasy feeling as he headed for the ranch in Nebraska that was half his. Cole's army buddy, Roy Galvin, had willed his share of the ranch to Cole when he'd been fatally wounded a few days ago. Now that Cole's army stint was over, he was coming to tell Roy's sister and uncle and aunt that Roy was dead. Cole never meant to keep "his" half of the ranch. He planned to give it to young Elizabeth Galvin and to make sure she was in full control of the place. But first he'd have to combat the vicious uncle and aunt and their crew of hired gunmen. And he'd have to fight their legal tricks, their bullets, even their dynamite.
