Samaria

Every Christian in the United States has a Samaria they can reach on one tank of gas. It is the mission field around the block, across the tracks, or two miles down the wrong road. For some it might be subsidized apartments the next town over, trailer parks three exits to the north, a local Indian reservation, or Appalachia. In our case, it was our own backyard. It's the neighborhood that is undermining your real estate investments, draining your public school system, bringing gangs and drugs into your "Mayberry" and corrupting your children. They are black holes of need, a seemingly hopeless cause, but these modern-day Samarias remain one quarter of the Great Commission
