Originally inspired by the Lorena Bobbitt case and the reactions it caused, No Angels also includes essays on Myra Hindley, Winnie Mandela, Rosemary West, Lindy Chamberlain, Ruth Ellis and the 'Brookside Two', amongst others. The contributors tease out the real women behind blurred images and attempt to demolish the old simplistic explanations of powerless victim or evil demon.
