African colonization

Two letters to President Lincoln arguing for the establishment of an American colony on the west coast of Africa. Buford suggests that this could be achieved by colonizing Angola or by taking control of the Republic of Liberia, and that the majority of the colonizing population might be composed of freed African-Americans.
