the long version

This book describes the European origins and American migration of one of the oldest and most distinguished families of Poland, the Zychlinskis. Originating early in the Renaissance Period, the Zychlinskis and their precursors, the Szeligas, played a prominent role as politicians at the regional and national levels, as warriors in military conflicts with pagan and Moslem hordes, and as prelates who disseminated Christianity into eastern Europe. Their history is presented within the political and economic context of the times, emphasizing in particular the impact of the reformation movement on the Zychlinskis and other Polish nobility. It concludes with the immigration of Witold von Zychlinski to America, his life here, and his American descendants.
