Bonheur es-tu là? is a double love story. The first one is Olivia Lamoureux's affair with Bernardo, the handsome Italian that she met in Tuscany and there is also Olivia's love affair with her yellow house on St. Paul street in Knowlton. The latter is a costly proposal but it provides so many funny stories, so much joy and friendships, in short, so much happiness! This is where the author meets with her heroine, in her passion for her village, for the English culture that Ruel is especially fond of. She likes what this culture means to her milieu such as beautiful gardens, large and welcoming homes, features that make Knowlton unique together with the coexistence of the French and English cultures all in the same village.
