A boy spends the night in his grandpa's spare room which has a door to what the boy's uncle used to tell his mother was the Bogeyhole, full of ghosts and ghouls and vampires waiting to creep out and get her as soon as it gets dark. His grandfather shows him there is nothing to be afraid of, hangs up a kite shaped like a dragon, and leaves a nightlight on for him. The boy imagines the kite turning into a flying vampire and attacking him.
