The Tumult at the Gate

On an August morning in 1697, Guernsey fisherman Helier l'Eree rescued a woman the waters of the English Channel. Helier was strong, young and innocent, and he set to work to revive her. The woman, young and beautiful, was not at all innocent. She revived and Helier lost his innocence. So started a strange and riotous series of adventures for the young Helier which led him all over Europe looking for the answers he sought....
