Excellent biography of World War One Romanian general, Ioan Dragalina, who died during the First World War in the battle of the Jiu Valley. Written by his son, a decorated navy commander, this works depicts the life of a military family at the beginning of the 20th century and the heroic efforts of the Romanian army to liberate the provinces of Transylvania and Banat, thus creating a united Romanian nation. Ioan Dragalina remains to this day one of the most venerated and sacred examples of heroism and patriotism.
