Reither, until recently a small publisher in a large city, now lives in an idyllic valley on the edge of the Alps, has discovered in te town library a book without a title, only the author's name on the container. At the same night he begins a three day journey to Sicily where he meets Leonie Palm, last owner of a hat store.
