the long version
When teenager Sierra Jackson goes missing, Avery Shaw is assigned to the story. She finds that the girl's fighting family is more concerned with a messy divorce and pointing fingers than helping find Sierra, so Avery becomes obsessed with discovering her whereabouts on her own. Allegations of misconduct are directed against her and rather than dealing with her issues, she picks a fight with her long-suffering boyfried. She then finds herself having to deal with false accusations, getting her boyfriend back, and finding the missing girl if it's the last thing she does.
