Abby Turner is a kindergarten teacher enjoying her winter break when, driving late one night on the San Juan Islands in search of her rental cabin, her car breaks down. While in search of help, she becomes the unwitting witness to a horrific murder. Desperate to cover his tracks, the killer turns his attention to Abby and a frantic chase through the woods ensues—until she finds refuge at the cabin of a vacationing detective. But the killer won't give up that easily, and Abby and the detective are forced to flee into the dense forest together. Soon, however, it appears that there is more than one man after them...As their anxious plight weaves and winds through the isolated woods of Washington and beyond, a romance slowly blossoms between the endangered duo. But there is more at play than meets the eye—and Abby’s life is in far more danger than she realizes.
