the long version

I own an original 1862 version, leather bound in red and gold, lovely colour. Awarded to one Alexander Kenny in 1882-83 from the Shaw Street Public School, Greenock. Scotland. I can only assume this was awarded as a prize for academic excellence. Headteacher at the time was John Wilson. Acquired from a car boot sale for 20p (GB). It's a good historical read in language of old. Extremely interesting.
