Author Walter Zev Feldman includes major written sources, as well as interviews with European-born klezmorim, conducted over a period of more than thirty years. Including musical analysis, Feldman draws upon the foundational collections of the late Tsarist and early Soviet periods, plus rare klezmer and cantorial manuscripts.
