Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Security

the long version

The pursuit of security? Don't Christians have eternal security? Yes, they do. Sadly, many live their lives and fail to obtain the peace which comes from knowing their eternal status, instead stalking the goal of security which forever eludes them. Many pastors respond to questions about security the same way: read 1 John. John's letter assists in affirming your eternal status, but security also supplies answers to tough questions, like does God even exist? What is the Gospel? Is it possible to have confidence in your salvation? Answering those questions and more comes from a study of John's letter.
