After her son's soccer game, Rhe Brewster smells something bad. As she walks towards the smell, she notices one parent sitting very still. Calling out to the lady, she finds it is someone who no longer can move on her own. Rhe calls in her brother-in-law, who just happens to be Pequod's police chief. Now there is a mystery to be solved. Who is this mysterious dead lady and why was she left at the soccer field? Rhe is determined to find out the answers.
