This is a collection of 10 essays (plus Introduction and Conclusion) on autobiographical writings of various kinds, including novels and plays, by authors who have some kind of connection with French 'existentialist' thinking: Sartre, Camus, Beauvoir, Nizan, Leduc, Genet and Guibert. It explores aspects of the relationship between 'self' and writing.
