the long version
This novel reimagines Bram Stoker's "Dracula" as if Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had written it as a Sherlock Holmes story. In it, Mina Murray hires Holmes and Watson to find out what happened to her fiance, Jonathan Harker, last known to be at Castle Dracula in Transylvania. The tale goes from Castle Dracula to London to the Reichenbach Falls, and incorporates elements not only from "Dracula" but also from "Silver Blaze," The Final Problem" and "The Empty House." Holmes' three-year disappearance, called the Great Hiatus, is also finally explained.
