Death and the crossed wires

Youth pastor Josh Easterling is electrocuted just as he's about to baptize sixteen-year-old Crys Cleary in what turns out to be a remarkably cold-blooded murder. Crys has suffered many losses in her short life. Her father died in a failed robbery attempt, her mother of an apparent overdose, and her boyfriend in a hunting accident. When the police get nowhere, Officer Trudy Roundtree persuades the chief to look into these other, apparently accidental, deaths.
