Dear preceptor

Thomas Wentworth Higginson was a military commander during the America Civil War, an Abolitionist, a Unitarian minister, a writer and editor and the man who brought the poetry of Emily Dickinson before the American public. During his long life he knew many of the great people of his day including Emerson, Thoreau, Julia Ward Howe, and Wendell Phillips.
