It is the summer of 1990. The Berlin Wall has collapsed, and Germany is preparing for reunification. Away from this upheaval, young Maria moves in with her boyfriend on his family's farm in the sleepy countryside of the East. A chance encounter with an enigmatic older man ignites an improbable affair. Henner is damaged and unpredictable, yet Maria is uncontrollably drawn to him. As the summer progresses, keeping their passion a secret becomes ever more difficult.
