This is a unique and accessible guide to Japanese corporatism. It profiles 25 leading Japanese corporate groupings and charts the structures, key relationships and features of 65 sectors of the Japanese economy from advertising to travel agencies, from biotechnology to semi-conductors. Each of the 90 sections contains a diagram or chart, and an objectively-written text from one of Japan's leading investigative journalists. These provide an overview of Japanese business in the second half of the 1990s - who is leading, who is declining in importance, which sectors are most depressed, which are in a state of flux, what problems confront each of the major groups.
