Established in 2004 with The Ancient World, the series saw completion in 2009 with the final installment, The 20th Century. Here, for the first time, all of these indexes have been merged to form this one-volume set of the Cumulative Indexes to all 4,474 lives covered. Each of the five indexes from all eight sets has been merged with its fellows from the other sets, and for convenience the Subject and Personage indexes have been combined into one comprehensive Subject and Personages Index. - p. vii.
