New Materials

In October 1991, distinguished Indian and Japanese scientists met to discussand exchange ideas about a rapidly advancing area of materials science and technology: new materials. This volume comprises the written versions of lecturers presented at that meeting. Diverse topics are covered, including: - high Tc superconductors - organic superconductors - hydrogenerated amorphous silicon - diamond thin films - quantum wells and superlattices for semiconductor lasers - icoshaedral quasicrystals -Polymer/(liquid crystal), conducting polymer, metal matrix, carbon-carbon and ceramic composites - biological and medical materials.
