Nan Shin is a follower of a famous Zen monk, the late Taisen Deshimaru, and in this journal she describes life in the Master's dojo in Alsace, her worled travels on behalf of his spiritual community, her love of nature and her personal struggles with cancer. These strands are interwoven to make a marvelous evocative hole; aphoristic, witty, moving and deeply spiritual.
