A Latin American music reader

Collection of scholarly articles on diverse aspects of Latin American music, written by Latin American authors, published between 1986 and 2011, and now translated into English from the original Spanish or Portuguese. Each article has been chosen as representative, outstanding, or influential in some way to the field of Latin American musicology. The editors have also provided a substantial introduction to survey and contextualize the history of Latin American ethnomusicology.
