Sam Cochran wasn't happy when he found out that his younger brother Mitch was running with the Denker boys. Denker, an old man with a gimp leg and a disposition as sour as turned milk, uses his shoestring layout in North Basis as a cover from brand-changing operations. When Sam found out that Denker had planned on a special rustling job ... kidnapping the wife of the biggest rancher in the county ... he knew he had to break it up before Mitch got into something that was really over his head.
